An indoor birthday party for New York Building Congress head Carlo Scissura last weekend was attended by at least two dozen people who largely didn’t wear masks, per photos of the event. Attendees at the gathering, which was reported Thursday by the New York Daily News, included Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Ingrid Lewis-Martin whose boss, Eric Adams, officially kicked off his mayoral campaign this week.
Guests included prominent members of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, with whom Mayor Bill de Blasio has had close ties.
Former party boss Frank Seddio, who was in attendance, dismissed criticism of the event as overblown.
“I was there with 10 people there, and that was it,” Seddio said. “It’s ridiculous. Here’s my feeling: Thank God that’s the only news we got in the whole fucking city.”
